The Michelle O'Neill Foundation to Benefit Children with Cancer and Special Needs

January 2026

Dear Supporters,

We'd like to share a brief update regarding Flipcause, a third-party fundraising platform previously used by our organization and thousands of nonprofits nationwide.

Flipcause is currently involved in bankruptcy proceedings, and public information indicates that approximately $29 million in funds may be unaccounted for across affected organizations. We have received more than half of the funds raised through the platform this year, with approximately $131,000 still outstanding.

We are actively involved in efforts to understand what happened and to protect the interests of our donors and the children we serve. We have been in contact with both the California Attorney General and the New York State Attorney General and have volunteered to participate on the unsecured creditors’ committee as part of the proceedings.

Please know that we take our responsibility to our donors and beneficiaries very seriously. Our mission—to support children with cancer—continues uninterrupted, and we remain committed to transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

With gratitude,
Caryl Ann O'Neill-Niven
